Carbon router bit with a diamond-cut pattern
Amana Tool® carbon router bits are made of solid carbide with a diamond-cut pattern and a unique design for milling carbon fibre composites to achieve an ideal milling result. In addition, the cutter design extends the tool life of the cutter, as carbon materials are demanding in their processing. When milling CFRP, we recommend a dust collector system as the CFRP dust is electrically conductive and can lead to difficulties without extraction.
If you intend to machine block material, a spray cooling system is more appropriate, as this produces considerably more dust and generates even more heat.
Carbon router bits are very versatile
Carbon router bits from Amana Tool® are versatile. The rapidly growing use of carbon fibre reinforced polymers (CFRP) in many different areas and industries requires tools that meet the challenges of such composite materials. With various possible milling applications, many other milling tools are needed to achieve the best possible results.
Special tool geometry of the carbon cutter
About carbon cutters, experts have recognised the need for a special tool geometry that combines a highly abrasion-resistant carbide substrate with generous fluting. Because that combination can not only cut through the solid resin but also cuts the carbon fibres, leaving precise and smooth cutting edges.
In addition, the pattern releases the resulting heat from the friction again ideally. Thanks to the tool geometry, which reduces the cutter from wearing out too quickly.
Carbon router bits with a special coating
Furthermore, the multi-blade design of the industrial carbon router bit cutters reduces the abrasion heat generated and also dissipates it better. That, in turn, is beneficial for the material to be machined and extends the milling tool’s service life.
The unique Spektra™ nACo® nanocomposite coating gives the carbon router bits from Amana Tool® an additional nano-hardness and heat resistance. Even though the brilliant violet-blue tint of the cutter edge wears off after the first use, the improved properties remain.
These carbon cutters are suitable for milling the following materials:
