Surfacing router bit for the finest finish

With the Amana Tool® surfacing router bit, you get the finest results with a smooth finish when milling. Thanks to the unique 2+2 insert design, the surfacing router bit achieves a better surface finish than conventional milling cutters with only two inserts. The HMA-12 and HCK-70 insert knives are suitable for this surfacing router bit. The scope of delivery contains two of each of these inserts needed for the surfacing router bit.

Face milling cutter with four indexable inserts

The lateral and lower indexable inserts allow for ideal surfacing of panel material and better clearance of 90° corners, which makes reworking immensely easier. Overall, the Amana Tool® surfacing router bit is the optimal tool for preliminary work to obtain a flat surface and finish with an excellent finish.

Specially developed surfacing router bit for planing, surfacing and rabbeting the following materials:

  • Chipboard
  • Epoxy Resins
  • Fibreboard
  • MDF
  • LDF
  • Hardwood
  • Softwood
  • Plywood

For optimum results and maximum insert life when machining the above materials, replace the insert knives with the optional AMA-12 and RCK-70 general-purpose inserts.

  • Plastic
  • Acrylic

For machining plastic and acrylic, use a lower CNC spindle speed and an appropriately adjusted feed rate to prevent the acrylic material from melting and subsequently sticking to the tool.

Advantages of face milling cutters

These industrial surfacing router bits have solid carbide inserts with four cutting edges that allow the user to flip the inserts when one side becomes blunt. That ensures the highest quality of cut available for woodworking.

Features:

  • 2+2 insert knives design
  • for 4-sided solid carbide insert knives
  • exclusive carbide grade for highest cutting quality
  • maximum cutting performance
  • faster material removal

Recommendations:

For machining solid woods, we recommend removing the two lower inserts.

The correct torque for tightening the screws is 2-3Nm.
