Our tangential knife blades are, depending on the type, suitable for the tangential cutting modules EOT-3 and TCM-4 from Ecocam. The cutting tools are ideally suited for tangential cutting of foils, cardboard, rubber, cork and foam. The cutting tools are made of high-quality and resistant solid carbide and allow exact cutting with long tool life.

Special tangential knife blades with a serrated edge for robust material

For the oscillating tangential cutting module EOT-3, we offer tangential knife blades with a specially serrated edge, which are particularly robust and slide more easily into the material due to the serrated edge. This enables the blades to cut even tricky materials with air chambers such as foam, Styrodur and corrugated cardboard into the desired shape.

Tips for precise tangential cutting


Tangential cutting of foil, cardboard, paperboard and foam

The application possibilities for our tangential knife blades are extensive. You can cut letters from adhesive foil for lettering and logos. On the other hand, you can also use them for lettering advertising signs and vehicles. You can also use the cutting tools with our cutting modules on a CNC machine to produce seals made of cork or rubber.

The different blade types are, among other things, excellently suited for the following materials:

  • cardboard/corrugated board
  • PU foam boards
  • foam

Oscillating tangential cutting compared to cutting with a drag knife

With the oscillating tangential module, the cutting head has a more sophisticated design than with the module for drag knives. This is because, in tangential cutting, a separate stroke motor guides the blade to any acute angle. In other words, the motor raises the blade, turns it and lowers it again. By changing the tangential knife blade in the respective cutting direction, exact cuts are possible. Consequently, even fine lines, corners, edges and contours can be cut accurately.

Besides, the versatile use of a tangential knife is advantageous, not only concerning the cutting geometry but also the material to be cut. This is because a tangential cutting module also works precisely and quickly when machining more robust and stable materials.

When using the oscillating tangential knife, you can cut correspondingly thicker materials as a foil. This is a further advantage over the drag knife, as it allows more flexible working.

Vacuum table as ideal clamping aid for tangential cutting

For thin and flexible materials, a vacuum table is ideally suited as a clamping aid. Due to the low cutting thickness during CNC cutting with tangential knife blades, the holding force of the vacuum is only slightly changed. A special air-permeable base enables a constant fixing of the workpiece until the end of the machining process.
